Royal Museums Project | National Museum of Scotland
Elbow were thrilled to be invited to work on several of the audio visual offerings for the re-vamp of this high profile Museum in the heart of Edinburgh. Of particular note is the large scale back projected screens, each 4 meters wide, hanging amongst an array of life size animal models. Our show, complimented by a stirring soundtrack, incorporates archive footage of animals in combat and at rest - using both global bursts of drama across all 3 screens and tapestries of smaller scenes played out as individual moments. Between shows we created a ‘moving wallpaper’ of colour-washed footage, silently inhabiting the spaces portraying scenes of relatively uneventful day-to-day living.
