The Natural History Museum / Diamonds Diamonds was a high-tech, high-profile exhibition which attracted a record number of visitors during its run at the Natural History Museum. Elbow was responsible for hardware consultancy, pre-production, production, post production, encoding and installation for over 15 exhibits, including the glamorous, large-screen, Red Carpet Entry projection, a multi-screen talking head production, a mute documentary about the industrial uses of diamond, two interactive tables at which visitors could select a number of different films revealing the mystical and historic values attributed to precious stones, audio interviews, an enormous 3D CGI immersive ‘experience’, and several atmospheric AV displays. The project was an example of a seamless collaborative relationship between Elbow, the hardware contractor, the designer and the client team.
