Epic Ireland Since it was opened by the former Irish President, Mary Robinson in May 2016, Epic Ireland the permanent exhibition charting the history of the Irish diaspora, has received nothing but praise. Elbow is proud to have produced the majority of large-scale audio visuals for what is billed as ‘the first ever digital-only museum in the world’. Epic Ireland aims to tell the story of 10 million departures from Ireland and to celebrate the achievements of 70 million people internationally who trace their roots back there. Elbow was selected by the designers, Event Communications, to deliver the bulk of the high-impact visuals. These included carefully researched and scripted dramatic representations of key figures and a 3-D motion graphic covering an entire wall depicting 2,000 years of Irish migration. The whole project was delivered on an extremely tight timescale but this has clearly not detracted from its impact. The Irish Independent newspaper describes it as ‘a much-needed and extremely polished addition to Dublin's deck of tourist attractions’, featuring ‘a bold series of 20 galleries slickly fitted with at times breathtakingly immersive technology-driven displays’. Highly Commended: Entertainment Venue of the Year. AV Awards 2016
